NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 23/06/2016

New Zealand paceman Mitchell McClenaghan will play no further part in Middlesex's T20 campaign after suffering a stress fracture to his pelvis.

The 30-year-old left-armer linked up with the English county following his commitments with Indian Premier League franchise Mumbai Indians and featured in two matches, starring with 4-33 in his first game against Essex.

It was during that match McClenaghan confirmed of pain in his left hip, which worsened during the fixture against Surrey last Friday and led to his diagnosis that will require a minimum of six weeks' rest.

Angus Fraser, Middlesex's managing director of cricket, said: "Losing Mitchell is a big blow for us. He is an outstanding white-ball bowler that brings variety, skill and nous to any side he plays for."

McClenaghan, who has played 48 one-day and 28 Twenty20 internationals for the Black Caps, represented Middlesex in the T20 Blast last year and has also had spells at Lancashire and Worcestershire.
