Medical event blamed for truck house crash

A truck crashed into a home in Papatoetoe © Newshub A truck crashed into a home in Papatoetoe Police believe a medical event was responsible for a truck driver crashing into two houses in south Auckland.

They have named the driver as Desmond Lloyd George, 55, of Waipa, who died following the crash in Papatoetoe on Sunday.

Mr George's truck clipped the roof of a home and crashed into another where the balcony fell onto his cab.

"Police believe the crash resulted from a medical event however the death will be referred to the coroner," they said in a statement on Friday.

No one else was hurt in the crash.
