Meghan Markle, who is pregnant with her first child, displayed her baby bump Tuesday night as she and her husband attended a Christmas carol service at St. Luke’s Church in London.

Her growing baby bump intensified rumors the Duchess of Sussex might be expecting twins. Even NBC News Correspondent Keir Simmons couldn't keep from weighing in.

“As a father of twins, I’m going to out on a limb here, guys," he said during a report from London on Wednesday. "I’m saying it's twins."

Another observer who is the mother of twins said Meghan's belly "sort of popped just like mine did.”

Research shows that women over 35 have a slighter higher chance of having twins. The duchess is 37.

In November, rumors reached a fever pitch that Meghan is expecting twins, prompting bookies to suspend betting thanks to an "abnormal" number of bets. The "flurry" of wagers betting Meghan will have twins had Paddy Power, an Irish bookmaker, wondering whether "perhaps the punters — or an insider source — knows something more than we do," read a statement from the company last month.

Meghan is due in the spring.

It's been a bumpy few weeks for the duchess, who's attracted negative attention of late. Most recently, TV personality Piers Morgan called her a “cut and runner," claiming that she has been cutting friends and family out of her life since becoming a royal.

"She wants important people," Morgan said. "Now she's best friends with Michelle Obama and the Clooneys."

On “Good Morning Britain,” one of Morgan's co-hosts speculated that the duchess might have dropped him as a friend because he's a journalist and she wanted to protect her privacy.

But Morgan hopes they can rekindle their friendship, adding that he's invited her for drinks over Christmas.
