Unbeaten centuries to Luke Wright and Meg Lanning were the highlights as Melbourne completed convincing men's and women's Twenty20 wins over Wellington in a double-header in the capital.

Englishman Wright clobbered 112 off 62 balls as the Melbourne Stars raced to 173-2 in 17.1 overs after Wellington had posted 168-5.

Stephen Murdoch (47) and Michael Pollard (45) were the home side's most productive batsmen.

Earlier, Melbourne Blaze openers Lanning (128 not out) and Emma Inglis (72 not out) batted through the innings in reaching 204-0. Australian international Lanning blasted 22 fours in her 62-ball knock.

Wellington were never in contention after opener Sophie Devine departed for a 24-ball 54, reaching 166-4.

The two Australian sides are preparing for their respective domestic T20 competitions.
