Police have charged two men in relation to a crash which killed four people near Hamilton in June.

Two 20-year-olds have been charged with street racing causing death and street racing causing injury, and are due to appear in the Hamilton District Court in December.

Hannah Lei Strickett-Craze (24), Lance Tyrone Robinson (28) and Paul De Silva (20), all from Waipa, and Jason McCormick Ross (19), from Taranaki, died when the white Nissan Skyline they were travelling in crossed the centre line and hit an oncoming van.

At the time, police said they believed both speed and alcohol were factors in the crash, which happened on Ohaupo Road near Hamilton Airport.
