Michael Wood wants Mt Roskill

NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 16/04/2016

Michael Wood will seek the Labour nomination for the Mt Roskill seat in Auckland.

He is a Puketapapa Local Board member, a former Young Labour president and previously stood for Labour in Epsom.

Veteran Labour politician Phil Goff currently holds Mt Roskill. He's standing to be Auckland mayor in local body elections this year.

"I love this place - it has given my family our start in life, and I believe that I can contribute back by being a strong voice for Roskill in parliament," Mr Wood said in a Facebook post on Saturday.

Mr Goff has said he'll quit parliament at the 2017 election if he loses his bid for the Auckland mayoralty.
