Kiwi Olympian Joe Meyer is ranked 17th out of the first 27 riders to complete the dressage phase at the Kentucky three-day event.

Meyer, riding Clip Clop, picked up 57.4 penalty points, leaving him more than 14 points behind Canadian leader Jessica Phoenix on Pavarotti.

The second half of the field will complete the dressage on Friday, including a second Kiwi, Tim Price on Ringwood Sky Boy.

Price finished second at the four-star event in 2015, riding Wesko.
