Missing Thames father, daughter found safe

The father and daughter who didn't return from a fishing trip of the Firth of Thames on Friday have been found safe and well.

Their boat was found adrift, but the the 73-year-old man and his 46-year-old daughter were fine, other than being tired and hungry.

Police were notified at 2.30am that they had not returned.

The pair set off for a day-long trip around 10.30am but did not return home that evening as planned.

The four metre long boat, named Sledgehammer, with an outboard motor, was spotted by people on another boat.
