A North Island based door-to-door sales business has pleaded guilty to 16 various charges relating to misleading customers.

Best Buy Limited faced 11 charges relating to failing to disclose information about credit contracts, and five relating to a clause in the contract indicating that it had the right to repossess goods when it did not.

The Commerce Commission said many credit contracts for Best Buy's customers did not provide clear-cut details of the number of payments needed, their cancellation rights, or their right to apply for hardship relief.

Best Buy pleaded guilty at the Auckland District Court last week, and will be sentenced at a later date.
