Moderate quake rattles Hawke's Bay

A 4.3-magnitude earthquake has rattled the Hawke's Bay, but there have been no initial reports of damage.

GeoNet says the quake was recorded just after 8pm on Tuesday and the epicentre was 20km east of Waipukurau and at a depth of 50km.

It was rated as moderate in intensity.

Police and the Fire Service said they had received no calls relating to the quake.
