Monaco restored their three-point lead at the top of Ligue 1 by brushing Nantes aside 4-0 at Stade Louis II on Monday (AEDT).

Paris St Germain and Nice both won on Saturday to draw level on points with the principality club, but Kylian Mbappe's first-half double, another before the break from Valere Germain, and Fabinho's penalty helped lift Leonardo Jardim's side clear.

Monaco's unbeaten league run this year extended to 10 matches.

Marseille bounced back to winning ways in style and leapfrogged St Etienne into sixth place after a 4-1 victory at Lorient.

Rolando and Dimitri Payet put Marseille 2-0 up inside 20 minutes and further goals from Florian Thauvin and Morgan Sanson early in the second half consigned Lorient to a fourth straight league defeat.

Benjamin Moukandjo scored a 73rd-minute consolation for Lorient but Marseille, beaten 5-1 at home by PSG in their previous league match and knocked out of the Coupe de France by Monaco midweek, cruised to victory.

Yassine Benzia's late equaliser rescued a point for Lille in their 1-1 draw at Toulouse.

Christopher Jullien headed home Yann Bodiger's cross to give Toulouse a 30th-minute lead, but Lille created several chances as the second half progressed and Benzia struck a deserved equaliser from close range with 10 minutes remaining.

Toulouse's third straight draw extended their unbeaten league run to six games, while Lille have won only one of their past six.
