Last week Wellington was voted the world's "Most Liveable City" and this week it's getting its own version of the popular boardgame, Monopoly.

Representatives from Winning Moves, who will manufacture the official Wellington version of Monopoly under license from Hasbro, announced the Wellington edition will hit shelves in November.

Members of the public have the opportunity to have their say on what they'd like to see one the board, particularly in the top dark blue spots.

"One of the favourite suggestions I've heard so far was to replace all the railway stations with coffee shops," Mayor Justin Lester says.

"In terms of buildings and streets... There are some obvious top choices: Lambton Quay, The Terrace, Cuba Street, Wellington Waterfront," one person posted on Facebook.

"Cuba Street. It ain't a Welly edition without Cuba St. it will have to have the Beehive and Oriental Bay, too. And Newtown. [sic]" said another.
