After more than a day of deliberations, the jury in an Auckland murder trial has retired for the long weekend.

The three men and nine women are deliberating a verdict in the High Court trial of Leonard Nattrass-Bergquist and Beauen Wallace-Loretz, both 18.

The two teens are charged with the murder and robbery of Ihaia Gillman-Harris, 54, at the Ascot Motel in Epsom on December 27, 2014.

Deliberations began on Thursday afternoon and will resume after Anzac Day on Tuesday morning, which is also Nattrass-Bergquist's 19th birthday.
