The Roy Morgan poll shows National down 4.5 points to 43.5 per cent.

It was conducted after Prime Minister Bill English announced the government's policy to increase the age of national superannuation to 67 in 2040.

Labour was up 3.5 points to 29.5 per cent, and the Greens were up 1.5 points to 14.5 - a total 44 per cent.

The results were a contrast to those in a Newshub poll released on Tuesday, which showed National on 47.1 per cent and well ahead of Labour and the Greens.

In the Roy Morgan poll, NZ first was down half a point to 7.5 per cent while there was little change in the minor parties.
