NZ Newswire logoNZ Newswire 4/11/2016

National has pulled ahead in the latest Roy Morgan poll.

National rose by 6.5 points to 48 per cent support in October, putting it clearly ahead of a potential Labour/ Greens alliance with 38 per cent, down 7.5 points, the pollster said.

Prime Minister John Key travelled extensively overseas, including an address to a UN conference in late September.

If a New Zealand election was held now National would be re-elected.

Support for the National partners was down slightly with the Maori Party dipping 0.5 points to 1.5 per cent while Act NZ was 0.5 points down to 0.5 per cent.

Labour's support was at 26.5 per cent, down seven points and the Greens have 11.5 per cent, down 0.5 points.

NZ First rose 1.5 points to 10 per cent.
