Controversial Bachelor NZ contestant Naz Khanjani has pulled out of her celebrity boxing match due to illness.

The reality TV dating show runner-up was scheduled to fight radio presenter Lily Taurau on the undercard of Joseph Parker's Thursday clash with Solomon Haumono in Christchurch.

But before weigh-ins on Wednesday, the fight's promoters, Duco, confirmed Khanjani was in hospital with an infection and would not be fighting.

They said she was not ducking the fight and the decision for her to drop out was made by promoters, not Khanjani herself.

On Tuesday, Khanjani stormed out of an interview with TV3, saying she was stressed out and had been sick.

On Wednesday night she tweeted a photo of herself having dinner in a hospital bed.

"Upset about not fighting but it wasn't my call. Duco have put my (health and safety) first which I completely understand and appreciate," she said.
