Nelson school gets burgled property back

A Nelson school that lost a large quantity of mountain bikes, camping gear and outdoor equipment in a burglary has had most of it returned.

Nayland College was burgled last week and police inquiries have resulted in the majority of the property being recovered.

A 19-year-old Hamilton man has been charged with receiving the property and is due to appear in Nelson District Court on Friday.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and other people of interest have been identified.'

In a separate case, the execution of a search warrant at a Nelson address has led to the recovery of some stolen property.

The items are believed to be linked to a commercial burglary in which more than $9000 worth of tools were taken.

A 32-year-old man is in custody and is due to appear in the district court on Monday charged in relation to the burglary and stolen property.

Police say inquiries are continuing to locate all the property.
