Ngaruawahia's Tribal Huk gang leader Jamie Pink has been charged with possessing an offensive weapon following an incident in Hamilton this month.

The 45-year-old has been charged with having a baseball bat studded with nails in the east of the city on November 5.

The new charge is in addition to two charges of unlawfully carrying a firearm he was charged with earlier this month.

He has yet to enter a plea on any of the charges.

In Hamilton District Court on Wednesday he was remanded on bail until his next appearance on December 7 where he will be required to enter a plea.

Pink declared war on methamphetamine in Ngaruawahia last month, vowing to rid it of those dealing the drug.
