Police are looking for two cars that may be connected to the killing of Upper Hutt woman Lois Tolley.

Ms Tolley, 30, was shot at point blank range and stabbed in what police described as an "execution" style killing at her home.

CCTV footage and images of two vehicles wanted as part of the investigation into the death were shown on television programme Police Ten 7 on Thursday night.

One is a silver Mazda 6, the other a silver Nissan Stagea.

The vehicles were tracked from Stokes Valley to the Upper Hutt area on the night of December 9, when Ms Tolley was killed.

CCTV footage also shows four men seen leaving Ms Tolley's Ward Street address that night, including one man who hung back from the group.

He is reported to have been visibly distressed and to have called out to the others in remorse, Detective Senior Sergeant Glen Barnett said.

"Police believe these men will have talked to someone about what they had done, and that someone out there will have information on who was involved," he said.

Police are also seeking information on two other vehicles seen in the area at the time of the death - a blue sedan and a blue hatchback.
