Corrections' recruitment campaign continues to put more officers into the country's prisons, with 122 new graduates welcomed into the industry on Thursday.

Corrections Minister Louise Upston says the 122 officers and offender employment instructors have come through a 12-week training course and brings the number of new recruits to more than 350.

The aim is to attract 600 new frontline staff by September.

"It's heartening to see so many men and women willing to step up to this very challenging job," she said.

"Our officers are committed and passionate about giving prisoners the support and encouragement they need to turn their lives around."
