New-look Waikato team for Shield defence

Six new caps have been named in the Waikato team for their second Ranfurly Shield defence of the season against King Country in Matamata.

New Zealand under-20 prop Sefo Kautai is one of three debutants in the starting XV alongside two other former New Zealand age group representatives - centre Nathaniel Apa and wing Penikolo Latu.

On the bench, hooker Steven Misa, prop Josh Iosefa-Scott and halfback Pele Cowley have all been named for the first time.

Waikato thrashed Thames Valley 83-13 in their first defence in Paeroa in June.
