Bill English © Nick Perry/AP Bill English New ministers are about to be sworn in at Government House, warrants will be issued for portfolio changes and then Prime Minister Bill English's reshuffled cabinet will hold its first meeting.

The swearing in by Governor-General Dame Patsy Reddy will be the final act in the saga that began when John Key announced his resignation on December 5.

That triggered a leadership election in which Mr English was challenged by Jonathan Coleman and Judith Collins, who both withdrew before the caucus vote.

Mr English unveiled his new cabinet on Sunday, bringing in four new ministers and rearranging the portfolios of senior members.

His deputy is Paula Bennett and Steven Joyce is the new finance minister.
