Leipzig have advanced to the top of the table in the Bundesliga with a 3-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen.

Promoted Leipzig have moved to the top of the Bundesliga for the first time after twice coming from behind for a 3-2 victory at Bayer Leverkusen.

Leipzig, in their first season in the German top flight, moved to 27 points from 11 games with an unbeaten record, three ahead of champions Bayern Munich.

Bayern are at Borussia Dortmund on Saturday in the weekend's top game and will go back on top on goal difference with a victory.

Willi Orban headed an 81st-minute winner for Leipzig who had quickly levelled a Kevim Kampl first-minute goal when Julian Baumgartlinger deflected the ball into his own net.

Julian Brandt gave Leverkusen a half-time lead but Emil Forsberg levelled after Hakan Calhanoglu for the home side saw a penalty saved.
