No bomb has been found after a threatening note forced the evacuation of four buildings at Wellington's Victoria University.

The Von Zedlitz building was first cleared following the threat on Friday morning.

The university later said the nearby Hugh Mackenzie Building and two offices on Kelburn Parade were also evacuated as a precaution.

Police searched the 10-storey Von Zedlitz building but found nothing.

Classes and tutorials in the affected buildings were to resume at 1pm.

Other parts of the campus were unaffected.

The threat follows an emailed bomb threat sent to St Patrick's College in Kilbirnie on Wednesday.
