Heavyweight David Nyika is New Zealand's only boxer in still in contention for Rio at the Olympic qualifying tournament in Azerbaijan.

Light-welterweight Richard Hadlow lost a unanimous points decision to Australian David Biddle to become the fourth New Zealand fighter to fail to advance past the tournament's first round.

Only Nyika won his opening bout after a first round TKO of Togo's Kevin Prudence Kuadjovi.

The Commonwealth Games champion, who needs to win his division to make it to Rio, fights third-seeded Dutch fighter Roy Korving in the second round in Baku on Monday.

Nyika's brother Josh exited from the welterweight division after being knocked out, while lightweight Chad Milnes and light-heavyweight Tyson Sykes suffered unanimous points losses.
