New Zealand must settle for a lowly ranking after being well beaten in all three of their group matches at the badminton world mixed teams championship on the Gold Coast.

New Zealand were to face Austria on Friday in a play-off for 19th.

The Kiwi team comprises singles players Gaea Galvez and Oscar Guo, along with doubles players Sally Fu, Danielle Tahuri, Kevin Dennerly-Minturn and siblings Susannah and Oliver Leydon-Davis.
