Well-travelled New Zealander Paul Feeney has reportedly been named assistant coach of South African Super Rugby team the Stormers.

Fairfax Media said former Blues assistant and Auckland head coach Feeney has signed a three-year deal which will also have him involved with Cape Town-based Currie Cup team Western Province.

Feeney's role at the Stormers will be to oversee attack and skills, working under head coach Robbie Fleck.

He has previously held coaching roles in Japan, Fiji and France.
