New Zealand and Australia will square off to decide the Oceania under-20 tournament winner after both remained unbeaten on Queensland's Gold Coast.

The trans-Tasman decider on Saturday will follow New Zealand's 80-23 dismantling of Samoa and Australia's 32-24 defeat of Fiji.

New Zealand, who beat Fiji 63-3 in the opening round, ran in 12 tries against the Samoans, including seven in the first half to lead 47-6.

The tries were scored by 11 different players, with the only double going to centre Braydon Ennor.

New Zealand, who have won the two previous editions of the tournament, and Australia are preparing for the world under-20 championship in Georgia in June.
