Scully, 26, this year moved from third-tier Continental Tour riding into the Pro Continental ranks of Drapac Pro Cycling.

With the second-tier group to effectively shut down, Scully has been fast-tracked into the Australian team's elite World Tour outfit.

Two other promoted young riders, Australian Will Clarke and Brendan Canty, complete the 2017 roster.

Scully has been rewarded for his form during an intense seven-month period in Europe, impressing particularly with this time trial ability.

His best results came at the Boucles de la Mayenne tour in Northern France, where he placed fourth in the prologue time trial and posted a maiden win on the third stage.

"I'm most looking forward to racing bikes alongside and against the best bike riders in the world, all around the world," Scully said.

"It's early days yet, but I would like to start things off with some strong performances at the New Zealand nationals in January and build from there."
