NZ First MP ordered out of parliament

NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 7/07/2016

Another NZ First MP has been ordered out of parliament.

Tracey Martin was given her marching orders on Thursday by Speaker David Carter after refusing to withdraw an interjection she made while Education Minister Hekia Parata was answering questions.

Ms Parata heard the interjection.

"The member has just said `what a lie'," she told the Speaker.

That's forbidden, and Mr Carter ordered Ms Martin to withdraw the interjection.

She refused and was ordered out for the rest of question time.

Her party's leader, Winston Peters, and deputy leader Ron Mark, are serial offenders.
