New Zealand flanker John Hardie has signed up for coach Richard Cockerill's revolution after penning a new one-year deal with Edinburgh.

The destructive back-rower has failed to hit his usual heights during a difficult campaign for the Myreside outfit.

But he is hoping for better luck when former Leicester coach Cockerill arrives this summer.

The Lumsden-born forward, who moved to the Scottish capital from the Highlanders two years ago, is looking forward to another year at the leading Scottish outfit.

"The club has been great to me since I arrived a few years ago, and I've loved every minute playing alongside the boys," Hardie said.

"It's been a disappointing season for us all, but we've got a good squad and the potential to really kick on next season."
