A group of uniformed Kiwi officers have busted out their best moves in the organisation's latest recruitment video.

The short video, posted on the police recruitment Facebook page and set to Ghost Town DJs' `90s track My Boo, comes with the message challenging police departments from across the world to do better.

"We catch people on the run every day, this was a new [Running Man Challenge] for our team," it says, referring to the worldwide dance video craze.

"Are you up for it Victoria Police, NSW Police Force, Western Australia Police, Queensland Police Service, South Australia Police, ACT Policing, Tasmania Police, LAPD Headquarters, Isles of Scilly Police and NYPD?"

The video is a much lighter take on police recruitment following a series of highly popular ads released last month.

Since being uploaded on Monday, the video has been viewed more than 750,000 times.

The Running Man Challenge trend involves people, most notably athletes, posting humorous videos of themselves doing the dance called the "running man" to the Ghost Town DJs song.
