NZ Police turn to hip hop

NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 3/07/2016

The New Zealand Police have traded their running man dance for some break dancing.

New Zealand Police Recruitment this year sent the internet into a frenzy with a video of their own performance for the worldwide running man dance craze, before colleagues from around the globe joined in.

Now they've returned with some new moves - and this time it's hip hop.

Officers were given a standing ovation after their performance at the Hip Hop Unite National Champs on Saturday night and have now posted a clip of their performance on their Facebook page.

Only two hours after being posted on Sunday morning, the video already had nearly 400,000 views.

"After the performance there was a massive queue of happy kids who were keen to take selfies with the crew," police national engagement manager said.

The video features the officers showing off their best solo moves, including a headspin by one wearing a riot helmet.
