NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 13/09/2016

New Zealand have booked a place in next year's under-20 soccer World Cup in South Korea next year after beating New Caledonia 3-1 to reach the final of the Oceania championship.

Two goals to All White Moses Dyer put the Kiwis ahead at halftime after a Cyril Nyipe thunderbolt had given New Caledonia a 1-0 lead at Luganville Soccer City Stadium in Vanuatu.

Reese Cox headed home at the far post with less than 20 minutes left to make the game safe for New Zealand who will face the winner of the semi-final between Vanuatu and Solomon Islands in Saturday's final.

Both finalists are guaranteed a spot at the 2017 World Cup.
