NZ Rugby sign 'connectivity' sponsorship

New Zealand Rugby bosses say their latest sponsorship deal will enhance the stadium experience for spectators.

A four-year agreement with telecommunications company Vodafone New Zealand is designed to add a digital element to live matches in line with other professional teams and leagues overseas.

A "live stadium experience" will be launched during the British and Irish Lions series against the All Blacks beginning in June.

NZ Rugby says spectators at the venues can use their own electronic devices to replay highlights and watch live footage from multiple camera angles.

Chief executive Steve Tew says the deal with a "connectivity partner" puts rugby at the forefront of the integration of technology with sport in New Zealand.
