NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 23/07/2016

A New Zealand basketball men's selection have bounced back to win the second game of their tour of China, beating Cameroon 72-70.

Two days after losing 83-68 to Montenegro, the team comprising domestic-based national development players responded with an improved display, led by 17 points each to Jordan Ngatai and Derone Raukawa.

New Zealand's lead at halftime should have been greater than 33-30 but they were hampered by turnovers.

Swingman Ngatai was a dominant figure in the third quarter, pushing his team 12 points clear before Cameroon launched a late assault.

The third and final game of the tour is in Zhongshan against the powerful Shenzhen Leopards club side.
