Bangladesh have asked New Zealand to bat first in the second Twenty20 international in Mt Maunganui as the tourists battle to stay alive in the three-match series.

The Black Caps have made three changes from the side who won the opening match by six wickets in Napier on Tuesday.

Allrounder Jimmy Neesham replaces the injured Neil Broom (finger), with wicketkeeper Luke Ronchi promoted to open the batting.

Two bowling switches see Ish Sodhi and Trent Boult come in for Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson.

Bangladesh have retained the same XI.
