NZ speedster Ferguson shines in IPL

Kiwi pace bowler Lockie Ferguson has claimed the scalp of AB de Villiers and recorded figures to remember in a victorious Indian Premier League display.

Playing just his second IPL match, Ferguson took 2-7 off four overs for the Risng Pune Supergiants in their 61-run dismantling of Royal Challengers Bangalore in Pune.

Ferguson removed South African star de Villiers cheaply in the fifth over as the struggling Bangalore were dismissed for 96 in response to 157-3. He also claimed the wicket of Indian international Stuart Binny.

Not so effective was another Black Caps paceman, Adam Milne, who took 0-35 off his four overs for Bangalore.

Meanwhile, New Zealand's two best performers this season had matches to forget when the Gujarat Lions met the Mumbai Indians.

Former Black Caps captain Brendon McCullum scored six for Gujarat and Mitchell McClenaghan leaked 0-50 as the home side scored 153-9.

Mumbai responded with 153, sending the tied match to a super over.

McCullum was kept quiet again as Mumbai won by five runs.
