Notts Outlaws have signed Black Caps legspinner Ish Sodhi for this season's Twenty20 Blast campaign.

Sodhi, 24, has shone in the shortest form, taking 21 wickets in 12 T20 Internationals.

He also impressed for Adelaide Strikers in the Australian Big Bash, claiming remarkable figures of six for 11 in his final game against Sydney Thunder in January.

Sodhi, who has also played in 14 Tests and 15 ODIs, will be available for the whole T20 season in England, a Notts Outlaws statement said.

Nottinghamshire head coach Peter Moores says Sodhi is clearly a player on the rise.

"He's growing fast and we're really excited to have him. He's not been to England before, so he is an unknown quantity for our opposition and we've seen the impact leg-spinners can have in T20 cricket," he said.

"He's also a good fielder, he bats down the order and will be part of the side for the whole tournament, which is a big thing."
