World champions Sam Webster, Ethan Mitchell and Eddie Dawkins will spearhead New Zealand's assault on the track cycling World Cup in Los Angeles.

The trio will compete in the rainbow jerseys as reigning team sprint world champions for the last time at the meet on February 24-26.

The Olympic silver medallists will defend their world title in Hong Kong in April.

Coach Anthony Peden is pleased with their training levels and subsequent form at the national championships in Invercargill last week.

An 11-strong team will compete in Los Angeles, including three of the Rio Olympic women's endurance team - Jaime Nielsen, Rushlee Buchanan and Racquel Sheath.

Olympian Natasha Hansen makes her international return in the women's sprint events.

NZ track cycling team:

Sprint: Men - Ethan Mitchell, Sam Webster, Eddie Dawkins. Women - Natasha Hansen.

Endurance: Men - Campbell Stewart, Tom Sexton. Women - Jaime Nielsen, Rushlee Buchanan, Michaela Drummond, Racquel Sheath, Alysha Keith.
