New Zealand striker Chris Wood has continued feasting on goals for Leeds United in the English Championship, bagging a double in a losing cause.

Wood gave his team the early lead with a close range goal in the 3-2 loss to Barnsley.

His second goal came from the penalty spot with 20 minutes remaining to reduce a 3-1 deficit.

It means the 25-year-old has scored five goals in his last three games and 19 across all competitions this season.

His 16 goals in the second-tier Championship is bettered only by the 20 to Dwight Gayle from leaders Newcastle United.

Wood's form has reportedly captured the interest of Premier League clubs West Ham and Sunderland, while there is also speculation a big-money Chinese offer could be coming his way.

The loss drops Leeds United from third to fourth but still well in the hunt to chase promotion to the Premier League.
