New Zealand have stumbled slightly in their final pool match at the Oceania under-20 championship in Vanuatu, drawing 0-0 with the Solomon Islands at the Luganville Soccer City Stadium.

The Kiws had already qualified for the semi-finals after earlier beating Tahiti 4-1 and the Cook Islands 3-0.

Against the Solomons, they showed plenty of attacking flair but couldn't deliver the final touch to beat outstanding goalkeeper Desmond Tutu.

New Zealand coach Darren Bazeley opted to rest All Whites Moses Dyer and Clayton Lewis ahead of Tuesday's semi-finals, where the Kiwis will meet either New Caledonia or Vanuatu.

The winner of the tournament qualifies for the under-20 World Cup in South Korea next year.
