Myra Williams, a New Zealand woman living in Australia arrested in Bali on drugs charges, has been paraded in front of media.

A New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade spokesman confirmed on Friday it was aware of the arrest of a New Zealand woman in Bali. Mfat will not name the woman because the family has requested privacy, he says.

She was allegedly caught carrying a small amount of methamphetamine when she got off her flight from Melbourne.

Indonesia has strict drug trafficking laws and earlier this year four convicted drug smugglers, including three Nigerians, were shot by a firing squad.

Last year, Australians Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran were executed on drugs charges.
