Obama To Make Statement On Paris Attacks

President Barack Obama was briefed Friday on the deadly attacks in Paris and will deliver a statement on the situation at 5:45 p.m. EST. 

According to the White House, Lisa Monaco, the assistant to the president for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism, briefed Obama on the ongoing situation.

Multiple attacks across Paris, including a shooting in a restaurant, explosions near Paris' Stade de France and a hostage situation in a theater, have left at least 35 people dead according to French police

Some 2016 presidential candidates, including former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and neurosurgeon Ben Carson, expressed condolences on Twitter:
