One critical after Auckland crash

St John ambulance says it took three patients to hospital from the crash in Parnell on Monday afternoon.

One is critically injured, one is serious and one is moderate.

Tamaki Drive, which goes along Auckland's waterfront, was initially closed between the Strand and Ngapipi Road, but one lane had re-opened, police said.

The crash involved one car, which hit a tree.

A police investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
