Onions dumped in chase, ends in tears

NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 17/05/2016

Onions and a glass chopping board have ended up embedded in a police car grille following a chase through Hamilton streets.

The kitchen items were flung from the fleeing car during the 24km pursuit which ended with the arrest of three Northland gang members on Tuesday night, police say.

The chase started when police tried to stop a car with mismatching plates in Frankton and ended in Taupiri, north of Hamilton.

Three men, aged 23, 24 and 26, will appear in Hamilton District Court on Wednesday, facing charges of failing to stop, reckless driving, driving while forbidden and endangering transport by throwing items.
