Out of sorts Ko splits with caddie

Lydia Ko has split with her caddie of two years as she bids to break out of a mini-slump.

Following her worst finish of the year in Korea on Sunday, world No.1 Ko told Jason Hamilton she would seek a new bagman.

The New Zealand 19-year-old's fortunes have dipped in the second half of 2016, having failed to win a title since July.

She has finished 20th or worse at her last three tournaments, including a 51st placing at last week's LPGA event in Incheon.

Australian Hamilton told she was up front with him soon after signing for a 74, her third round over par for the week.

"She told me in the clubhouse after the round that she felt like now was a good time to make a change," Hamilton said.

"She said she thought it would be good to get a different set of eyes out there."

After going through a number of caddies as an amateur and LPGA rookie, Ko hired Hamilton in October, 2014.

They combined for 13 titles, with two of them majors. Ten wins came on the LPGA Tour.

Five tournaments remain in the LPGA season.

Ko is sitting out this week's tournament in China and plans to return to action next week in Malaysia, at the same Sime Darby LPGA event where she and Hamilton began their partnership.
