A paraglider has been injured at Treble Cone Ski Area near Wanaka.

The accident happened on Monday morning and the man was winched to safety shortly after midday, a police spokeswoman says.

The man in his 30s has been flown to hospital.

Paragliding New Zealand has details of paragliding sites at the ski area. A landing site at the start of the road up to the ski field is narrow and the area has swift wind changes, the organisation says on its website.
