Parly Ferns heading for Sydney

NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 6/10/2016

Parliament's netball team, the Parly Ferns, are heading for Sydney this weekend to defend their Digeress Cup title against two trans-Tasman rivals.

The Parly Ferns won the inaugural Digeress Cup against the Australian Federal Parliament and the NSW State Parliament last year.

"We have been training hard and are ready to defend the title," said co-captain Louisa Wall, a Labour MP.

The other co-captain, government minister Louise Upston, says it's "a fantastic initiative" and will raise funds for the Confident Girls programme.

The Parly Ferns have been playing matches around New Zealand, supporting local charities.
