Patel bags 10 wickets for Warwickshire

Former Blacks Caps off-spinner Jeetan Patel has taken a match haul of 10 wicket to help Warwickshire beat Surrey and go top of the English country cricket championship.

Patel followed his 5-62 in the first innings with 5-61 in the second as the Bears won by 10 wickets with a day to spare at Guildford.

Surrey collapsed from 107-1 after tea on the third day and be bowled bowled out for 177.

That left the Bears needing five runs for the win and to consign the home side to their fifth loss in nine matches on their return to the top flight.

Earlier, tailender Patel scored 31, hitting five fours, before Warwickshire's first innings closed at 449 all out, a lead of 176.
